Kiani Beach Resort is ideally located on the beach of Kiani, just a few km east of Chania centre and old Venetian town. It offers 2 pools, a sea-view restaurant, an open theatre and a tennis court.

What was the highlight of Kiani Beach Resort Crete

A very enjoyable family break in October 2024

Our room was the perfect size and allowed our teenage kids to have a degree of independence with our worry. Food was of a good quality and variety during our stay The kids club staff were excellent and our younger kids really enjoyed the activities.

Our room was located at the edge of the resort and was, for the most part quiet. However, construction works at the adjoining site did start quite early in the morning. The pools were a little too cold for our kids but use of the indoor spa pool meant they didn't miss out.

Great family holiday at a lovely all inclusive hotel in rural Crete

A really nice hotel complex, lovely pool areas and great access to the beach. Warm sea, shallow with soft sand. Great for the kids to swim in. Good location in a quiet rural setting and with excellent facilities for the kids. Good selection of food at the buffet. We had some really good meals. The animation team and kids club staff were excellent!

The two tier all inclusive arrangement led to delays getting served drinks where the 'premium' customers ordered cocktails which took a while to prepare. This was by no means a big deal!

Good for a chill week

The new area of the hotel is lovely. Good pool facilities and nice buffet restaurant. Nice rooms. Comfortable beds. Lovely staff.

We had issues on arrival with that room being unclean. The staff were excellent and sorted it out immediately. We moved room and can’t fault it from there. There is nothing within walking distance. If you’re happy to just chill for the week it’s good. We had a car so explored a few days.

Excellent Family Vacation Accessible for Vegans and Those Gluten Free

Had an excellent stay at Kiani with three adults and a 15 month old. There were some particular stand outs: Food: My wife and I are vegan and I am also Gluten Free. Naturally, this can often make food very difficult (especially in all inclusive). However, there were always some options in every day (Lots of carbs and veg, but occasionally kidney beans/chickpeas etc). What was the real stand out though, was that the Chef was more than happy to accomodate us and talk us through all of the vegan options in every meal. Additionally, he would make gluten free vegan pancakes every morning for us, GF cornflakes, and a GF vegan dessert at meal times. Almond milk and chocolate alpro soya was also available. This was hugely appreciated! (There is also an organic food shop in nearby Kalyves which sells tofu/oat milk etc). Staff: The staff at Kiani were incredible. Very accommodating and friendly and great with kids. The real stand out was Paola one of the members of the waiting staff. She was absolutely excellent with our son theo and we hope that management are aware of how great she is! Beach: Beach was lovely, water was great, always were sun beds available. Pools: With so many pools to choose from there was always a place you could get that wasn't too busy. Swim lanes were often free. Room: Family room was large, had all the amenities you might need and was very clean every day.

Although the food exceeded expectations, it would be really good to see a vegan protein source at every meal (Beans, legumes, tofu, chickpeas etc). Pools: The pool water was really quite cold but you do acclimatise to it (The first day is chilly!) Spa: We would have loved to have used the Spa but it was VERY expensive in comparison to other local spa's and massages.

* The buffet is great, with a lot of choices; * Even though the breakfast doesn't change that much, but there are different main courses (together with other dishes) for lunch and dinner everyday; * Food are refilled pretty fast, and the staff clean up used dishes and reset tables, very frequently; * Plenty of kids activities (especially the evening mini-disco, which the kids are addicted to); * Friendly staff, with big smile, and always ready to help; * The room is clean, big and bright; * It's super nice to have the indoor pool with fixed (or higher, if you know what I mean) temperature; * Various of choices (cocktail, drinks, snacks, etc) at the bar during the day; * Toilets are clean, including the public ones; * Plenty of sun loungers;

* Sometimes, the glasses/cups/dishes can be cleaned even better (for example, make sure they are dry before the next usage); * Few of the umbrellas next to the sun loungers are broken (for example, they cannot be locked at the open position); The above issues are really small issues. I have to say, in general, I and my family are pretty satisfied with our stay. And the kids are already making wishes to come back for the next holiday.

Nice family resort with everything you need for a lovely holiday! Room is spacious with stunning sea view! Staff are super friendly and efficient.

Family Resort, great for children.

This was our second trip to Kiani Beach Resort. We only stopped for 2 nights this time, which for us was enough.

Being a family Resort, be prepared for many children. There are quiet areas, so it's fine. Alcoholic drinks need to be improved, one of the problems with many all inclusive resorts . You would need a car if you plan to explore the area.

Excellent stay, polite, friendly staff, but a bit overpriced.

The location is excellent. All the staff was very friendly and polite, except one rude bartender. The view from our family room was great - sunrise every morning over the sea. Excellent all-inclusive catering at all meal times with wide choice of tasty food. It could surely be felt that the guests are well cared for at this hotel.

Poor sound insulation. Sticky floors even after room service (floor washing) every day. I noticed cigarette butts and candy papers in several plant pots, which seemed inappropriate. The hotel seemed a bit outdated. I would give this hotel 4 stars, not 5.
